UPCOMING AUDITIONS Andover, MA ACT Theater Company Sandbag, Stage Left (or One Dead Dolly) by Jack Neary AUDITIONS Wed Jul18th 7pm & Fri Jul 20th 7pm ACT rehearsal studio 260 Canal Street Lawrence MA 

This is a murder mystery play with 15-19 characters. This will not conflict with the fall musical and the rehearsals will be twice a week until much closer to the show. THIS IS A CRAZY Over the top character show. Hilarity will ensue!

This will be Dinner theater at the Indian Ridge Country Club either Friday the 14, or 21st of September. Character descriptions:

 Bailiff (1/2)- Deaf, Sleepy, bored- will occasionally break into song and dance.

 Judge Roy L. Bean- Crazy Groucho Marx character 

Cling- Female Prosecuting attorney

 Static- Male Defense attorney

 Prison Guard- Stern Millitary type will occasionally break into song and dance.

 Arnold Meddle- Husband of the deceased- on trial for the murder- NERD

 Salvatore Soo- Asian/Italian Macho Man

 Gretel Van Cistern- Diesel Dike 

Ginger Rayle- Dumb Blonde Bombshell

ACT Andover wants you to help! Hello Everyone, We are at that time of year when we need to get volunteers for next years board. We are reorganizing again for simplicity. We need people who are dedicated and committed to doing these jobs. More important then experience, is passion to be involved and the ability to organize and take charge of these important areas. We hope that you will consider volunteering for a position, committee, or production job. It takes a village to keep going. The more hands helping, the lighter the load. We will be having a general membership meeting on Monday June 25th at 7:00 to discuss all this, the upcoming seasons and lots of other exciting things ACT is up to. We hope to see all of our ACT Family there! General Membership Meeting at ACT Space: Monday June 25th, 7:00 p.m. Board of Committees: Each job has there own responsibilities and expectations, but all positions need to commit to a meeting once a month (missing no more then 2), and organizing a meeting of your committee once a month. Marketing: This person is responsible for the Marketing of the organization and reporting to the board the progress of the marketing department. Skills include: good proofreading, keeping individuals on task and on schedule. Responsibilities/Committees under the Marketing Chair: Poster Placement: People on this committee will organize where and when the posters will be distributed. They will also follow up with a had written note thanking the places where a poster was displayed Print Advertising: People on this committee will be responsible for writing and submitting press releases, or getting articles published in the local papers. They are also responsible to get the productions listed in surrounding Community Calendars, specifically The Lawrence Eagle Tribune, The Andover Townsman, and the Haverhill Gazette. Group Sales: This group will be responsible for creating a database of organizations to be targeted for group sales. They should get phone, email and mailing addresses for these organizations. They will then be responsible for contacting these organizations to promote group ticket sales. Special Events: This person is responsible for the organization of events that the organization engages in. Examples include: Act Awards Night, Andover Days, Act Holiday Party, Summer Gathering, Participation in the Local Santa Parades, Community Performing Events for Charities Fundraising: Chair is responsible for the organization of the fund raising efforts of the organizations. This year I would like to concentrate on 4 fund raising events 1 per quarter: -Wine tasting Cabaret night with a silent auction -Trivia Night -Karaoke/ ACT Idol event -Other Event TBD Assistant House Manager: This position is responsible for the assisting in the running of the house for each show. They are responsible for the box office, including monitoring the ticket line, and ticket sales at the door. They are also responsible for coordinating ushers and concessions for each show. The person in this position will assist Rhonda Pare. What's in it for you??? Anyone who fills one of the 6 Committee Chair positions will not have to pay a personal membership fee, will receive a comp ticket to the Awards Banquet in June (at the end of your term), and two comp. tickets to each regular seasons show (general admission). In addition we have many opportunities for production jobs: Willy Wonka, Full Monty, and Anything Goes We need people who are dedicated and committed to doing these jobs. More important then experience, is passion to be involved and the ability to organize and take charge of these important areas. We will train you on how to properly do these jobs. You must be able to make a bi weekly production meeting for the shows you are involved in and at least 3 preplanning meetings prior to auditions for each production. Andover, MA May 3, 2012 Andover Community theater brings locals to the stage for Broadway's tap dancing extravaganza 42nd St the musical Over the last 8 weeks ACT has brought together multi generations of Andover folk. While the production features many experienced dancers ACT and our choreographer Beth Kennedy (A South School Andover elementary teacher as well) and her dance captain Amy McCarthy have taught a cast a non-tappers to tap very difficult choreography in a very short window of time! This is going to be a fabulous show. We love for you to feature it in the community section of your paper. ACT Andover Theater Company - March 2012 - Getting ready for Summer Theater Camp in Andover

March 2012 Andover, MA  It'e been a busy season here at ACT.  This fall we wrapped up our production of Annie at The Rogers Center for the Arts and even performed on a float in the Andover Santa Parade. In january we ran The Great American Trailer Park Musical and are now in production for Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific with ACTjr opening in April and the blockbuster musical 42nd St with ACT which opens in May.  Coming up is our annual summer dinner cabaret and our summer theater camp program in Andover, MA.

There is a lot happening at ACT this month!

There is a lot happening back stage at ACT this week.  On Jan 30th Tap Classes with Amy McCarthy begin.  You can register online at the act website www.actandover.com under the classes tab.  In February (just a few days away)  we have Dance Fit with Amy Wilkins Blanchette Here is a little more info about Dance Fit (The class will consist of warms up, across the floor and/or center aerobics, and various styles of choreography.  Warm ups will be plies, a lot of stretching, laterals, and isolations followed by sit ups, push-ups and triceps dips.  The choreography section will be the most challenging for non-dancers.  The warm up section will not be hard in terms of dance ability, but may be physically challenging.)  And then we have auditions for 42nd Street!  Feb 7th and 8th
